In the bonus lesson, we will:
- clean up the file and prepare it for handover to our animator, Wayne Dixon, who will be working with it next and expects and immaculately prepared package. (We don't want to incite his wrath, trust me.)
- stylize the model and give it a few more imperfections, making it more 30% more appealing (that's an exact number)
- fill the treasure chest with coins! This is a great way to introduce you to a world of rigid body simulation, an incredibly fascinating field of 3D
I hope you learned a lot about computer graphics in this course, thanks for coming along for the ride. Now go ahead and create more awesome projects!

Regarding export

Regarding export
Thank you again for this great tutorial. Great value for me!
Beginner question: I'd like to know what path should I follow in order to be able to export this mesh. Namely for Meshlab or Sketchfab, so that their interpreters can display my textures/materials. I tried to learn from here and there but I couldn't find a straight forward answer. Because when I export it does not consider the painted texture we've made in this tutorial, only the wood and metal materials. There must be something in plain sight I am missing.
Thank you again!

Coin won't stop bouncing
I'm trying to simulate the coins but I can't get them to stop bouncing which means they won't settle when I have a group of them. I've tried changing the friction and bounciness of both the coins and the collider but regardless of whether they are 0 or 1 they will keep bouncing around. Is there something I'm missing here?

How well do UVs still work after the mesh is deformed?
I notice that in the overall sequence of the course, we first modeled, then unwrapped UVs, then did texturing/lighting/rendering. This makes sense as there seems to be a linear dependency structure, i.e. can't texture until UVs are unwrapped, can't unwrap until the model is done. So I'm surprised that the last step includes more model deformation, but the results still look fine. How much mesh modification is okay after UVs have been done? Does it matter that the modification in this step is by lattice modifier, rather than directly pushing verts in edit mode?

Changing the scale of Mesh after Lattice
When I added the lattice object, confirm it with the borders of chest and use Lattice modifier the scale of chest object has changed (I scrolled the strength of modifier and near about zero it come back to normal size).
Also I tried to apply the transformations (scale of modified object), but it comes weird and object go through the borders of lattice object.

Coins normal map
Is there by any chance a tutorial how to create the normal map for the coin? I would like to change it to my own design and have a hard time with the normal map.

After saving and reopening I seem to have lost my texture/shading data.

After saving and reopening I seem to have lost my texture/shading data.
I was about to start the coin simulation part and I saved, closed blender, and reopened it only to find everything is pink now. The first two images are prior to closing and the pink one is right after reopening the file. Did I lose a texture file somewhere or can anyone point out what I'm missing here?

Question: instead of array, couldn't we also have used the Particle System to simulate the coins?
Array modifier seems to add more objects into this model which may sometimes be unwanted. A Particle system applied to the coin seems to make a bit more sense if we don't want to unnecessarily add objects to this system. So between particles vs. array, which one should be used?
Also to fix the issue of coins falling straight through the box, add a solidify modifier to the box. The simple paper thin box is not "thick" enough to hold the coins, A solidify modifier with thickness of 0.15 was enough for me to fix the issue of coins falling through the chest.

Lattice Modifier Unevenly Affects Mesh
Hello,
For some reason certain parts of my mesh aren't moving smoothly with the lattice modifier. You can kind of see in this screen shot where I exaggerated the lattice deformation to make the error more obvious. The middle plank is not moving as far as the planks/metal around it. Any idea what I did to make this happen?

Simulation stops midway, often after just a couple of frames
The first couple of times the sim didn't start at all, then upon repeatedly restarting it it advanced slowly, a few frames with every new run. I then advanced in time by just hitting right arrow, which eventurally gave me a long enough sim to see a proper result. Is this just 2.8 quirkyness or can we control that?3 Answers -

Coins fall through chest
I'm following along with lesson #14, using the released Blender 2.80
When I simulate the coins falling, some of them stop at the bottom of my collider (box), but the majority fall through. They all have identical physics settings (which I have re-added just to be sure)
Any idea what I might be doing wrong? I'm happy to share my .blend file if it helps.
