Let's look at some of the guidelines you can follow when you're trying to decide where the visual elements of you scene should be placed in the frame.

Knowing a few of these things will help you compose a better shot.  But remember, they are guidelines.  Things can and should move around on your shot so you can't stick to the rules on every single frame.  You can even break the rules sometimes (when you understand them of course!)
